Communicating care through art

As part of our project we wanted to develop conversations about care more widely. With funding from the Wellcome Trust we worked with Fabrica contemporary art gallery to commission artwork that responded to our research. The result was the Care(less) exhibition, which comprised a film work sited within a sculptural installation by artist Lindsay Seers that used lens-based and digital generated images to create a completely immersive experience for the viewer/participant. The piece was accompanied by a series of texts, and a programme of talks, film screenings and activities exploring attitudes to ageing, the nature of caring relationships and the ways in which the social care system currently meets care needs.
